London's pub lecture series
The smartest night out in London.
One expert. One big topic. One pub. Hear someone who knows their stuff, then ask them anything.
“Properly interesting talks.”
The NudgeHow a night works
Not a lecture hall. A pub.
No exams, no slides full of jargon, no sitting in silence. Just a good story from someone who has spent years on it.
A night at Pints of Knowledge
Grab a seat
Find a spot, get comfy and settle into a room full of curious people.
Hear the talk
A historian, scientist, barrister or journalist spends 30 to 45 minutes on one subject they know inside out.
Ask anything
Then it's 15 minutes of Q&A. Ask the thing you've always wanted to know. It's often the best part of the night.
What you'll hear
Stuff you'll be telling people about tomorrow.
History, science, crime, psychology, pop culture. A taste of what's been on:
Why the Victorians threw mummy-unwrapping parties
The London murders that invented forensic science
Why Tesco knows you better than MI5
What avoidants are actually thinking when they pull away
The 85% of matter nobody has ever seen
Inside a hostage negotiator's life-or-death calls
How to win The Traitors using Aristotle
The science of why we rave
A new line-up drops every month, so there's always something you didn't know you wanted to know.
Who comes
A must-do night out in London.
Swap the usual pub quiz or another night on the sofa for something you'll actually remember. Every talk is built for curious people, not experts, so you don't need to know a thing before you arrive.

Good questions
Before you book
Do I need to know anything about the topic?
No. Every talk is pitched at curious people, not specialists. If you've ever fallen down a Wikipedia hole, you're the audience.
Can I come on my own?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Everyone in the room picked the same topic, so you've already got something to talk about.
How long is it?
An hour in total: a 30 to 45 minute talk, then 15 minutes of Q&A. Most evening talks start at 7pm.
Where are the talks?
Pubs and bars across London, from Brixton to Walthamstow to Chiswick. The venue is on every listing above.
What if my talk has sold out?
Join the Pints of Knowledge WhatsApp community. Extra seats and new line-ups go there first.
